Ok, since kinja mobile sucks I'll try this post again.

Here is an LS1 swapped AP1 Honda S2000. I don't mind swaps, in fact I wish there were more of them but there is one thing that annoys about them and that is the lack of variety.

Kinja'd!!!

I wish instead of the tried and true LS or small block swaps there was more variety, like the kind that's instead of a box of chocolates. Instead of an LS how about a Northstar, Supercharged 2zz, or how about a Suzuki G10. Yes, the same 1.0L 3 cylinder engine that powered the Geo Metro. And some hive mind thinking individual sent from the motorway heavens above did just that.

LS1 all the things!

But.. Why?

The point of owning S2K is you can brag that "MY CAR REVS TO INFINITY BRO!"

I've heard a lot about this but I still don't believe the car isn't ruined dynamically.

1) Torque.

2) To be one of the first LS swapped S2000 owners.

3) Money.

Also I remember seeing something, somewhere, sometime, about the LS weighting around 100 pounds more.

The LS is a popular swap because it's cheap, reliable power in a (relatively) compact package. DOHC V8s just don't fit in most smaller chassis.

If you want to see more variety, just look to Europe for different swaps. Especially in Sweden and Norway. They'll take whatever motor they find and throw a huge truck turbo on it.

People do LS/LQ engine swaps because they are cheap, make tons of power, have an unparalleled aftermarket, and they are tiny bastards that can fit in everywhere. They are like cats, if it fits, they sit.

Wow, I wonder how much butter they had to put on the heads to get that baby to slide in there? Also, thats got to be the cleanest engine bay this side of a Testor's snap tite model!

What do you think about the V10 viper swapped S2000

its much better than a turbo and all of the associated plumbing. Just look at that lead photo, all of the weight stays way behind the front axle

Build Threads is full of them, but you'll also see some on Speedhunters (especially anything Gatebil related).

Swap a Honda J engine in there.
